Exeter Newsletter, 10 January 1908

Mr. Warren Eastmand died yesterday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Silas S. Manwaring, upper Front Street, after a long sickness with tuberculosis, aged 87 years, 8 months, 21 days. he had long been a victim of asthma and never fully recovered from a fall from a wagon a few years ago.

Mr. Eastman was born in Parsonfield, Me., the son of John and Betsy (Day) Eastman. For much of his life he conducted a fish market in Chelsea, Mass., whence 23 years ago he came to Exeter. Here he first made his home at the farm of a son on Brentwood road, then on Centre street and for the past few years with his daughter, Mrs. Manwaring. From his age and retired life Mr. Eastman had made comparatively few acquaintances in Exeter. By them he was highly esteemed. he has left a widow and eight children: Mr.s Manwaring, Mrs. Frank L. Eldredge, John Y. and James A. Eastmand, all of Exeter, Charles Eastman, of Brockton, Mass., Mrs. Ida Pettigrew, of Portsmouth, Mrs. Hattie Tutein, of Linden, Mass., and a married daughter resident in California.
