    • Most Bonnell/Jarvis family records refer to this family’s surname as “Scheff”, as do many newspapers. However, census records have the name as “Sheff,” in 1850; “Shiff,” in 1860 (a common surname in this part of Wisconsin at the time); And “Schaff,” in 1870.
