  [NHBoVR-1909a1] notes that George W Harvey had been a resident at the New Hampshire State Hospital, an insane asylum, for approximately 2 years at the time of his death. Since this period coincides with the duration of the illness from which he died, it’s likely that the listing of “Paresis” as the cause of death refers to “paralytic dementia”, the neuropsychiatric disorder resulting from late-stage syphilis.
