    • [Fairbanks-1949] notes that one son (unnamed) emigrated to Australia with one of his sisters, and that another son (unnamed) emigrated to South Africa to work the diamond mines. William is probably one of these two unnamed sons. [1]
    • Consistent with the so-called “birth” entry for his older brother, 20 Aug 1873 probably refers to William’s baptism rather than his date of birth. [5]
