  • Notes 
    • Rebecca J (Fitzgerald) Tutein and her husband, Frederick Johanne Tutein Jr., appear to have separated sometime before sometime between the birth of their son Warren in 1903 and the birth of their son Almon in 1908. Frederick is not living at the Tutein residence on Elston Streen in 1908 and is not enumerated with his wife and children in 1910. By 1920 he is enumerated in the household of his mother and sister. From 1910 on, Rebecca consistently lists herself as the ‘head of household’ with no listing for Frederick. [9, 10, 13, 14]
    • “Rebecca J Fitz” and “Rebecca Jane Fitz” are common in Tutein family sources as the name of Frederick Johanne Tutein’s wife. These are most likely derived from [NEHGS-1891a]. However, the names of Rebecca’s Parents listed in [NEHGS-1891a] and [Holbrook-1872a] match exactly, and Rebecca (McCarthy) Fitzgerald (note the surname) is living with her daughter during the enumerations of both the US Federal Census’ of 1910 and 1920. Consequently, “Fitz” was probably just an abbreviation for “Fitzgerald” used in the marriage entry. [4, 15, 16, 17]
    • Rebecca J Fitzgeralds’ parents were Thomas J Fitzgerald and Rebecca McCarthy. [15, 16]
    • Rebecca J (Fitzgerald) Tutein’s mother, Rebecca (McCarthy) Fitzgerald, is living with daughter and grandchildren in Somerville in 1910 and 1920. [4, 17]
