  The 1841/1851 Irish Census Abstracts are not clear about the actual date of the census. For instance, the age listed for Margaret conflicts with her likely age at the time of her emmigration. However, this is the only record for a Daniel McGinley with a wife “Margaret” living in County Donegal. Additional research is required. [3] Whether or not Daniel McGinley was born before or after the adoption of the Acts of Union (1 January 1801) would determine if he was born in the Kingdom of Ireland or the United Kingdom.
