  • Notes
    • Nils Olsson, like the rest of his family, took the name “Lindell” sometime around their emigration in 1872. Minnesota State Census records for Meeker County, as well as his gravesite, list his name as “N O Lindell”. The Birth and Death Record for Meeker County has him listed under “Nels Olson”. This database uses the name “Nils Olsson” because this is how he is listed in Swedish birth records for himself and all of his children. [3, 6]
    • “Asum, Kristianstads län,” is a historical name for the area centered on the modern village of Asumtorp (might also be Norra Asum, another village within a mile) in the modern province of Skåne län. [3]
    • In 1900, Nils Olsson (aka, Nels O Lindell) lists himself as widowed and is living with his son Ola despite the fact that the best available information has his wife’s death in 1902. [4, 12]
    • In 1875, Nils Olsson (listed under the name “N C Lindell”) and his wife are living alone in Swede Grove, Meeker County, Minnesota despite the fact that they still had unmarried children under the age of 25. [10]
