  • Notes
    • Numerous sources including [US-1850-1b], [Boston-1913], and [NEHGS-1913a] list Joseph Andrew Tutein’s birth place as Somersworth, New Hampshire, but this is disputed by other sources including [MaA-1859a] which lists Boston, Suffolk Co, Massachusetts. [6, 8, 17, 18]
    • [Woodlawn-1905] lists Joseph A Tutein’s age at death as 76 years, 6 months, and 10 days, placing place his birth on 3 Sep 1836. This is consistent with the photograph of his headstone, [Herndon-2002q], his obituary, [Boston-1913], and [NEHGS-1913a]. [4, 17, 18, 19]
    • In [US-1900-1v] Joseph’s surname was incorrectly recorded as “Tuteen” by the census taker. [7]
