| In [US-1900-1q] the surnames of Patrick W McCarney, his older brother Patrick W, and their father James, were all mistakenly entered as “Carney”. | McCarney, Patrick W (I135)
| In [US-1900-1q], James McCarney lists himself as widowed, and as expected Margaret (McGinley) McCarney is missing from the census record. However, Meeker County birth and death records record that Margaret did not die until November of that year. | McCarney, James M (I336)
| In [US-1900-1v] Joseph’s surname was incorrectly recorded as “Tuteen” by the census taker. | Tutein, Joseph Andrew (I187)

| In [US-SSN-1917d] Harry E Jarvis notes that he has three children. Since it is known that four children where alive in June 1917, it’s not clear which were residing with Harry and his wife Mary Adelaide. For this reason, residency notations for 1917 have not been added to child records. | Jarvis, Harry E (I11)
| In [US-SSS-1917b] and [US-SSA-1941a], Merlin Douglas Masten listed his birthplace as “Aversberg (Lauderdale County), Mississippi”. No such location exists in Lauderdale County or even in Mississippi more generally. However, Merlin’s half-brother, Matthew LeRoy Masten, recorded that many of Merlin’s younger siblings were born in “Orvisburg”, Pearl River County, Mississippi, and the family of Horace Greely Masten and Alice Frances (Stone) Masten were known to be living in Poplarville (close by Orvisburg) in the early 1890s. On the other hand, [Masten-1900] records Matthew traveling from New Orleans, Louisiana to Jackson, Mississippi with his father’s, “...new wife and baby” (Alice (Stone) Masten and Merlin) in1889. He also records that the family was only in Orvisburg/Poplarville from 1892 on, 5 years after Merlin’s birth. However, in the late 1880’s Horace Greely Masten was known to be working near Boque Chitto, Lincoln County, Mississippi south of Jackson, and Merlin lists Boque Chitto as his birthplace in [US-SSS-1942a1] and [US-SSA-1953a]. Given the timeline of Horace’s movements in Mississippi, it seems more likely that Merlin was born in Boque Chitto than in Orvisburg. | Masten, Merlin Douglas (I119)
| In [US-SSS-1917i], Samuel Richard Fairbanks lists his birth date as 3 Dec 1893, and [Fairbanks-1978] has birth year as 1894. Both of these facts are contradicted by [Holbrook-1893a]. | Fairbanks, Samuel Richard (I27)
| Information from Pluma Bonnell (forwarded by Judith Ann (Bonnell) Lindell) has birth year as 1904. But this conflicts with sources [LDS-VRI-1903a] and [US-SSA-SSDI]. | Bonnell, Oscar Casper (I685)
| Information on Mary Graham Henderson’s birth comes from the Eighth Census of the United States of Madison County, Mississippi as reported in John Goodwin Herndon’s book. | Henderson, Mary Graham (I2501)
| Information, even regarding the existence of this individual, should be treated skeptically since he has the same birthdate and name as Friedrich Johannes Tutein. There is no evidence that the latter had a twin. | Tutein, Friedrich (Fritz) Johannes (I948)
| Ingrid Olsdotter did not accompany her father and siblings when they emigrated to the United States in 1870. It is assumed that she died before they left Sweden. | Olsdotter, Ingrid (I5103)

| It appears that George W Harvey never married and had no children. | Harvey, George W (I4213)
| It appears that Nancy Stacy married a John Campbell before her marriage Friedrich Johannes Tutein, as a son from that marriage, William Campbell, is living in the Tutein household in 1850 and 1855. This also explains why, when she married Friedrich Johannes Tutein she stated her name as “Nancy Campbell”, while most of her children referred to her in vital records as “Nancy Stacy”. It is not clear how the names “Nancy Gross Stacy”, [Tutein-1997a] or “Nancy Gross” [Nolthenius-1998] were derived, since the only reference to “Gross” is its use as her youngest son’s (by Friedrich) middle name. | Stacy, Nancy (I257)
| It is a common misconception in the Bonnell family that the Peter Rauls (and family), listed in [US-1860-1l] just below Mathias Rauls, is actually his son. To the contrary, Peter, son of Mathias and Elizabeth Meyer, was born in 1842 and still listed in his father’s household in 1860. | Rauls, Mathias (I349)
| It is a common misconception in the Bonnell family that this Peter Rauls listed in [US-1860-1l] just below Mathias Rauls, is actually Mathias’ son. To the contrary, Peter, son of Mathias and Elizabeth Meyer, was born in 1842 and still listed in his father’s household in 1860. | Rauls, Peter (I334)
| It is assumed, but not known for certain, that John Chadwick passed away before the enumeration of the 1841 Census of England and Wales. No John Chadwick, born in Cheshire, appears in that census in is father’s household nor in any other record for the area. (There are, however, numerous records for “John Chadwick’s”, but all are for individuals born in Lancashire and not in proximity to Stalybridge or the Parish of Mottram in Longdendale.) | Chadwick, John (I5109)
| It is known that Russell Martin Chenoweth was living in Eastham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts after he retired and up until his death in 2013. So it is likely that he died in Eastham. | Chenoweth, Russell Martin Jr (I94)
| It is more likely that this individual’s given name was “Andreas’ as noted in [US-1870-1r] than the americanized “Andrew” as listed in [US-1860-1o1]. | Hoffman, Andreas (I4128)
| It is not clear from source [Boca-Raton-Municipal-1983a] whether or not Karl Freed was cremated after death. The columbarium at Boca Raton Municipal appears to be too small for caskets. | Freed, Karl B (I64)
| It is not clear from source [Boca-Raton-Municipal-1983a] whether or not Mildred Estelle (Tutein) Freed was cremated after death. The columbarium at Boca Raton Municipal appears to be too small for caskets. | Tutein, Mildred Estelle (I62)
| It is not clear if James’ surname was “Maston,” as indicated in the 1860 and 1880 US Federal Census’, or “Masten” as listed in the 1870 US Federal Census Index. Horace Greely Masten, James’ eldest son, used the latter spelling throughout most of his life. On the other had the Works Progress Administration, Indiana Marriage Records have James and most of his children marrying in Martin County using the name Maston. | Maston, James Blackwell (I3881)

| It is not clear if the marriage referenced in [LDS-VRI-1823a] is an actual marriage date or a record of the Immanuel Chadwick and Hannah Toothil’s intention to marry. Additional research is required. | Family: Immanuel Chadwick / Hannah Toothil (F3600)
| It is not clear if the reference to “Newton, Cheshire” for Allan Chadwick’s birthplace refers to the modern town of “Newton Wood” which lies between Dukinfield (to the north) and Hyde (to the south) along the river Tame or to the town of Newton near Chester. The former is much more likely because of its proximity to Glossop, where Allan Chadwick married Mary Firth, to Stalybridge where he lived until his death, and to Mottram in Longdendale where most of his elder siblings were christened. | Chadwick, Allen (I45)
| It is not clear if the reference to “Newton, Cheshire” for Immanuel Chadwick’s birthplace refers to the modern town of “Newton Wood” which lies between Dukinfield (to the north) and Hyde (to the south) along the river Tame or to the town of Newton near Chester. The former is much more likely because of its proximity to Stalybridge where Immanuel Chadwick and his family lived at least through the 1860’s and to Mottram in Longendale, the historic parish where Immanuel was christened. | Chadwick, Immanuel (I4999)
| It is not clear if this individual’s given name was “Buda”, as listed in [US-1900-1l2]] and [US-1920-2l], or “Beda” is listed in [US-1910-2d]. | Farin, Buda C (I4142)
| It is not clear that Ronald Cooke Fairbanks is actually interred with his siblings and parents at Helidon General Cemetery, but there is also no record of his ashes being interred at Mt. Thompson Memorial Gardens in Brisbane. | Fairbanks, Ronald Cooke (I5064)

| It is not known where exactly in Milam County Seaborn Stiles and his family lived, but secondhand sources occasionally refer to “Brushy, MIlam Co.”. No such town exists in modern Milam County, Texas, but Brushy may be a reference to Brushy Creek which runs from southwest to northeast across Williamson and Milam counties and crosses the county line approximately 2 miles south of Thorndale. Given census records from 1850 through 1870 which consistently place Seaborn Stiles and family in western Milam County, it’s likely his farm was located along Brushy Creek south or just east of Thorndale. | Stiles, Seaborn (I736)
| It is odd that the 1850 Federal Census for MA lists Edward as having been born in New Hampshire, like his elder brother Frederick, when a birth record for Chelsea, Massachusetts exists. | Tutein, Edward Gross (I233)
| It is unlikely that there were two “John Stiles” in this family. This person either has a different first name, or the record may be inaccurate. | Stiles, John (I851)
| It isn’t actually known when or where Abigail Hopkins died. Since William Merrick’s will (Abigail’s husband) will mentions a different wife, she probably died after the birth of her son Samuel in 1714. Since 1714 was after the creation of Barnstable County (1685), and the merging of the Massachusetts Bay Colony with the Plymouth Colony (1691), “Barnstable County, Massachusetts Colony,” is assumed. | Hopkins, Abigail (I3785)
| It’s not clear from source [VtSAaRA-1994a] which cemetery in Derby, Orleans County, Vermont Phyllis Edna (Robinson) Jones is buried in. The most likely candidate is Derby Line Cemetery. | Robinson, Phyllis Edna (I164)
