| Due mostly to the listing found in [Holbrook-1805a], this individual has been incorrectly identified as “Polly Atwood” by hundreds of researchers. But [Holbrook-1805b], the marriage intention filed by Daniel Cole and Polly in February of that same year, lists Polly’s full maiden name, as “Polly Atwood Snow”. Polly Atwood Snow was the daughter of Joseph and Rebecca (Young) Snow of Wellfleet, and there is ample additional evidence to indicate that Daniel Cole’s wife was, indeed, Polly Atwood Snow, rather than one of the many women from Cape Cod named Polly Atwood. First, two of their children were given the middle name “Snow” (Polly’s father’s side of the family). Second, one child was given the middle name “Young” (Polly’s mother’s side of the family). Third, Daniel Cole’s wife died in 1836 at the age of 51—putting her birth year near 1785, the same as our Ms. Snow. | Snow, Polly Atwood (I1145)
| Due to Emily’s pregnancy, Maurice Atkinson Frohock and Emily Lowe, both 17 at the time, married without their parents permission at Nashua, New Hampshire in October of 1897. | Family: Maurice Atkinson Frohock / Emily Lowe (F33)
| Due to Hanna’s death at such a young age, it is assumed that she was also born in Dannenberg, Wollin Parish, Pomerania. | Budahn, Hanna Friederica Dorothea (I4279)
| Due to her age at the time of the enumeration of the 1920 US Federal census, it would be reasonable to assume that Dorothy M Eldridge was the daughter of Frank L Eldridge and his first wife, Rachel F “Lettie” Eastman. That census record, however, lists Dorothy’s parents as both having been born in Massachusetts, indicating that Dorothy may have been a child from a previous marriage of Frank’s second wife, Marion G. (Adams) Reynolds. To date, no record from the 1910 US Federal census has been discovered to prove this assertion. | Eldridge, Dorothy M (I4224)
| Duke Street | Conley, Iris Lear (I5189)
| Duplicate christening records exist for Immanuel Chadwick, each from Cheshire parish records. The first lists his given name as “Immanuel”, which is consistent with the name used in his marriage intention record. The second uses the name “Emanuel” (probably “Emmanuel”), which is consistent with the name as it appears on the christening records of his children. | Chadwick, Immanuel (I4999)
| During the enumeration of the 1900 US Federal Census, Joseph Hardy is listed as a servant in the household of Mary A. Pendleton in Boston. | Hardy, Joseph (I46)

He was definitely in Haverhill in 1719 when his son Jeremiah was born, and definitely in Concord before 1729 when his daughter Ruth was born. | Eastman, Ebenezer (I2719)
| Ebenezer Eastman’s will states that he was “of Rumford in the province of New Hampshire...” Concord was named Rumford before 1765 when then Governor Wentworth gave the town its name. | Eastman, Ebenezer (I2719)
| Ebenezer Hopkins’ birth date is actually listed as “Jan 1706/07” in [Austin-1995a]. But if the birth date for his older brother Thomas is accurate, then Ebenezer could not have been born Jan 1706. | Hopkins, Ebenezer (I3766)
| Edger Stiles probably died as a young child since he is not recorded in any other Stiles genealogical compilation but only shows up in the census records. | Stiles, Edger (I1955)
| Edith (Tutein) Robinson and her children were living with Edith’s parents, William Franklin and Harriet Cole (Eastman) Tutein, at the Tutein residence on Elm Street in Stoneham, Middlesex County, Massachusetts at the time of the 1920 and 1930 US Federal Census. |

| Elisa A Young’s residence at the time of her marriage to Samuel Snow Cole is listed in [Holbrook-1839b] as “St. Johns” possibly “St. Johns Bay” but it is not known what town this refers to. | Young, Elisa A (I3724)
| Eliza Ann Eastman is not referenced in any sources after the enumeration of the 1870 US Federal census. Likewise, Ida A Eastman, is not referenced in any sources before her marriage to Walter C Harvey in 1876. Furthermore, [Tutein-1978] lists 8 children of Warren and Rachel Young (Cole) Eastman who lived to adulthood, and Eliza is not among them. Consequently, since Tutein descendants only knew Eliza by the nickname that she used throughout her adult life, “Ida”, and since Ida (Eastman-Harvey) Pettigrew was known to have been born in Aug of 1858, Ida and Eliza must be the same individual. | Eastman, Eliza Ann (I202)
| Eliza “Ida” Ann (Eastman-Harvey) Pettigrew and her husband John were living in the household of Ida’s younger son by her first marriage at the time of the enumeration of the 1920 US Federal Census. | Eastman, Eliza Ann (I202)

| Elizabeth Lush’s parents were James Lush and Margaret Cook. | Lush, Elizabeth (I929)
| Elizabeth Meyer probably died around or before 1875 since, by 1880, Mathias is remarried with two young children ages 4 and 3. | Meyer, Elizabeth (I350)

| Elizabeth Shafer is not enumerated in her parents household in [US-1870-1s]. Being 16 years old at the time, she may have been serving as a domestic in another household like her sister older sister Catherine. | Schaefer, Elizabeth (I4158)
| Elizabeth Snow was probably born in Plymouth, but the evidence is circumstantial. | Snow, Elizabeth (I3816)
| Elizabeth Stacy’s birthdate is actually recorded as “Feb. 26 1730-31” due to the use (through 1752 in the American Colonies) of dual Julian/Gregorian year designations for events occurring during the months of January, February, March. | Stacy, Elizabeth (I5089)
| Elizabeth “Elise” Grothmann and Sophie Grothmann appear to be sisters, the daughters of Joachim and Sophie Grothmann. | Grothmann, Elizabeth (I711)
| Ella White’s parents were Adolph White and Harriet Massenger. | White, Ella (I4980)
| Elsie C Eldridge does not appear in any census records after 1910, and so it is assumed that she died before the enumeration of the 1920 US Federal census in January of 1920. | Eldridge, Elsie C (I4227)
| Elvira W Sawyer was living as a boarder in the Boston household of her future husband Joseph Andrew Tutein and his mother Nancy (Stacy) Tutein in 1855. | Sawyer, Elvira W (I1183)
| Emily (Parsons) Eastman’s headstone gives her age at death as, “29 years, 11 months, and 7 days”. This places her birth on 5 Apr 1829, which conflicts with the 5 May 1829 date listed in [Rix-1901]. The latter, however, may be a christening date. | Parsons, Emily (I3247)
| Emily Ann Eastman appears twice in “Wellfleet Births, Marriages, Deaths 1843 - 1859, Volume 2”. First on page 37, entry 41 with a birthdate of 16 Feb 1853. Second on page 41, entry 119 with a birthdate of 16 Feb 1854. Since it is highly unlikely that a second child with the same name was born exactly one year later, this database assumes that this is simply an entry mistake. Moreover, no death record has yet been found for an older daughter named Emily Ann Eastman. | Eastman, Emily Ann (I1122)
| Emily “Emma” Ann Eastman used her maiden name and listed herself as “single” in the 1880 US Federal census. In addition, her 10 year old son, John Albert Nelson, is listed in the same household as a “boarder”. Therefore it’s likely that Emily’s marriage to the elder John A Nelson in May of 1870 was simply to provide legitimacy to their son’s birth, and they did not live as husband and wife thereafter. | Eastman, Emily Ann (I1122)
| Emma J (Whalen) Eastman passed away at Exeter Cottage Hospital 2 days after she was admitted. | Whalen, Emma J (I4218)
