1. | Philemon Stacy was born before 17 Apr 1743 in Gloucester, Essex County, Province of Massachusetts Bay; died in ? in (unknown). Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Another “Philemon Stacey” was born around 1742 in Massachusetts. This individual was the son of Samuel Stacey of Ipswich. However, sources [NSSotAR-1951a2] and [Holbrook-1743a] are in agreement on the birth/baptism location of our Philemon Stacy, and so the connection between Philemon Stacy and his father Nymphas Stacy is well supported. Philemon married Mary Rand on 14 Jan 1772 in Gloucester, Essex County, Province of Massachusetts Bay. Mary was born in ? in (unknown); died in ? in (unknown). [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes: It appears that Nancy Stacy married a John Campbell before her marriage Friedrich Johannes Tutein, as a son from that marriage, William Campbell, is living in the Tutein household in 1850 and 1855. This also explains why, when she married Friedrich Johannes Tutein she stated her name as “Nancy Campbell”, while most of her children referred to her in vital records as “Nancy Stacy”. It is not clear how the names “Nancy Gross Stacy”, [Tutein-1997a] or “Nancy Gross” [Nolthenius-1998] were derived, since the only reference to “Gross” is its use as her youngest son’s (by Friedrich) middle name. Nancy married Friedrich Johannes Tutein on 14 Jul 1833 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. Friedrich (son of Johann Friederick Tutein and Maria Susannah van Beverhoudt) was born on 4 Dec 1798 in Copenhagen, Denmark; died in 1858 in _______, _______, Massachusetts, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Numerous sources including [US-1850-1b], [Boston-1913], and [NEHGS-1913a] list Joseph Andrew Tutein’s birth place as Somersworth, New Hampshire, but this is disputed by other sources including [MaA-1859a] which lists Boston, Suffolk Co, Massachusetts. Joseph married Elvira W Sawyer on 16 Jan 1859 in Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. Elvira (daughter of Samuel Sawyer and Lydia Anders) was born on 10 Oct 1836 in Boothbay, Lincoln County, Maine, United States; died on 6 Jan 1905 in Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States; was buried after 6 Jan 1905 in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: It is odd that the 1850 Federal Census for MA lists Edward as having been born in New Hampshire, like his elder brother Frederick, when a birth record for Chelsea, Massachusetts exists. Edward married Annie Eldora Wright on 17 Aug 1867 in Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. Annie was born on 2 Aug 1844 in Billerica, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States; died in 1907 in (unknown). [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
