  1. 1.  Miranda Thomas was born on 9 Nov 1862 in _______, _______, Alabama, United States; died in 1892 in (unknown); was buried in 1892 in Taylor City Cemetery, Taylor, Williamson County, Texas, United States.

    Other Events and Attributes:

    • Census: 24 Aug 1870, Beat No. 4 (Benton), Lowndes County, Alabama, United States

    Notes:

Although [Stiles-1971] claims that Amanda and Miranda Thomas were born in 1859, they do not appear in the Eighth Census of the United States for Selma, Dallas County, Alabama. [US-1870-1i] lists the twins as 11 years old in 1870, but this is probably a mistake. Finally, [US-1920-1j] has Miranda’s sister Amanda listed as 57 years old in 1920, which correlates with the only discovered birthdate for the twins, 9 Nov 1862 (unverified information from the LDS IGI).

The evidence supporting Miranda Thomas’ marriage J. W. Stratton is not verified and should be considered suspect. The LDS marriage record is the only known record of a Miranda Thomas marrying in Williamson County, Texas.

Miranda and Amanda Thomas were twins.
