  • Notes
    • A daughter-in-law, “Eunice Herndon”, is living in the household of Thomas B. and Lillie (Bennett) Herndon during the enumeration of the 1910 US Federal Census. Since Robert Henley Herndon is the only known son of Thomas and Lillie, it is presumed that Eunice is his wife. However, by 1918 on his World War I draft registration form, Robert lists his mother Lillie is his closest living relative rather than Eunice, and during the enumeration of the 1930 US Federal Census, 4 years prior to his marriage to Edna Elizabeth Griffin, Robert lists himself as single. The disposition of Robert’s marriage to Eunice is not know and this presumed marriage is not listed in this database until additional evidence is obtained. [1, 2, 9, 10]
    • A step-daughter, “Johnnie Kendrick”, is listed in the household of Robert Henley Herndon and Edna Elizabeth (Griffin) Herndon in 1940. It is likely that this woman is the daughter of Edna Elizabeth Griffin and a previous husband. [1, 6]
