[LDS-AF-1999a] lists only “Ashbury, South Carolina” as the burial location of Samuel Littlejohn. This is probably a reference to Ashbury Cemetery in modern day McCormick County Littlejohn, Samuel (I2539)

[LDS-AF-1999a] lists only “Ashbury, South Carolina” as the burial location of Sarah (Cofer) Littlejohn. This is probably a reference to Ashbury Cemetery in modern day McCormick County Cofer, Sarah (I2540)

[LDS-AF-1999f] actually lists Aaron Stiles birth place as merely “Laurens, S.c.” It is not known if he was actually born in the town of Laurens. Stiles, Aaron (I849)

[LDS-AF-1999f] actually lists Jesse Stiles’ birth place as merely “Laurens, S.c.” It is not known if he was actually born in the town of Laurens. Stiles, Jesse (I854)

[LDS-AF-1999f] actually lists John Stiles birth place as “Laurens, Laurens, S.c.” But, at the time, the area that eventually became Laurens County was part of the old “Ninety-Six District.” Laurens District was not organized until 1795 and Laurens County almost 70 years later. Stiles, John (I847)

[LDS-AF-1999f] actually lists Margaret Stiles’ birth place as merely “Laurens, S.c.” It is not known if she was actually born in the town of Laurens. Stiles, Margaret (I855)

[LDS-AF-1999f] actually lists Seaborn Stiles’ birth place as merely “Laurens, S.c.” It is not known if he was actually born in the town of Laurens. This source also lists his death at Brushy, Milam County, Texas. Stiles, Seaborn (I736)

[LDS-AF-1999f] actually lists William Stiles’ birth place as merely “Laurens, S.c.” It is not known if he was actually born in the town of Laurens. Stiles, William (I853)

[LDS-AF-1999f] and [Stratton-2002b] list James Stiles’ birth place as merely “Laurens, S.c.” It is not known if he was actually born in the town of Laurens. Stiles, James (I852)

[LDS-AF-1999f] has death at Brushy, Milam Co, but [USGS] lists no such place. Moore, Matilda Helena (I743)

[LDS-AF-1999f] lists Rebecca Fincher Newton’s death year as 1874, but this is almost certainly not correct since Seaborn Stiles had married his second wife, Matilda Helena Moore around 1844. More likely Rebecca died in childbirth or of an illness around 1843. Fincher, Rebecca (I737)

[LDS-AF-1999f] lists Rebecca Fincher’s birthplace as South Carolina. However, in [US-1910-1d] both James Ellen Stiles and Francis Newton Stiles lists their mother’s birthplace as Tennessee. So, considering the notorious inaccuracy of the LDS Ancestral File database, this database uses the Tennessee location. Fincher, Rebecca (I737)

[LDS-AF-2002a] has 1835 as Martha C Stiles’ birth date which is consistent with her grave marker inscription. [Stiles-1999] is the only source to report the 1836 date. Stiles, Martha C (I3323)

[LDS-AF-2002a] has birth at Fayetteville, Lincoln County, Virginia. Stiles, John Alford (I3325)

[LDS-AF-2002a] lists death at Cedar Bluff, Tennessee (with burial at Cedar Bluff Cemetery) but this conflicts with [Stiles-Cemetery-1875a] which convincingly places burial at Stiles Cemetery in Lincoln County, Tennessee. Stiles, James (I852)

Taylor, Mary Ann (I880)

[LDS-AF-2002a] lists death at Kelso, Lincoln County, Tennessee in Aug 1852 with burial at the Stiles Cemetery near Kelso. Cemetery surveys of the Stiles Cemetery east-northeast of Kelso are, however, quite complete, and neither Sarah Ann (Stiles) Howard nor her husband William are listed. Consequently, this database uses the later death date from [Stratton-2002b]. Stiles, Sarah Ann (I3329)

[LDS-IGI,2002a] incorrectly lists the birth-name of this individual as “Margrethe Nilsson”. Nilsdotter, Margareta (I1992)

[LDS-IGI-1997a] has two references to a Susan Eastman. Although duplicate references are not unusual, these may be two different individuals because of the 9 months between their birth dates. Eastman, Susan (I2176)

[LDS-IGI-1998a] has birthplace as Dallas County, Alabama, United States. Todd, John Thomas (I1984)

[LDS-IGI-1998a] has birthplace as Dallas County, Alabama, United States. Todd, Atha (I2033)

[LDS-VRI-1847c] lists 9 Jun 1846 as the date of Maria Chadwick’s birth. This conflicts with 9 Oct 1846 listed in [Fairbanks-1978]. Chadwick, Maria (I44)

[LDS-VRI-1860a] actually lists Allen Chadwick’s place of burial as, “St. John, Dukinfield, Cheshire, England”. However it is not clear if this refers to St. John’s Church in Dukinfield, the parish church completed in the 1840’s or to the historical Ecclesiastical District of St. John. Further research is required. Although there is no question that the Allen Chadwick referred to in [LDS-VRI-1860a] is really the husband of Mary (Firth) Chadwick. First the burial records refers to “Leech St.” (in nearby Stalybridge) as location of the Allen’s death, the same street that Mary (Firth) Chadwick and her children were listed as living on in the next English census. Second, the age at death aligns with all known information about Allen. Chadwick, Allen (I45)

[Littlehale-1889] does not state whether Issac Littlehale and Elizabeth Davis were married in Gloucester or Ipswich. Family: Issac Littlehale / Elizabeth Davis (F3650)

[Littlehale-1889] notes that Elizabeth Davis was, “…of Gloucester,” but does not state that she was born there. Davis, Elizabeth (I5078)

[Littlehale-1889] notes that Issac Littlehale was probably born in Haverhill, but then moved with his mother to Ipswich, Essex County where he later settled. Littlehale, Issac (I5077)

[MaA-1876a] and [NEHGS-1877a] are in agreement on the data and location of Blanche Tutein’s birth. Tutein, Blanche (I192)

[Masten-1997] has birth on 10 Apr 1910. Farnham, John Amaso (I227)

[McGown-1998] has Carra Stiles as being born before Lois, but all other sources, particulary [Stiles-1986] agree that they were in fact twins. Stiles, Carra Elizabeth (I725)

[MN-1895c] has this individual’s middle initial as “C”. Johnson, William A (I307)

[MsDoAaH-2010a] is an index of marriages in Hinds County and, unfortunately, does not contain volume or page numbers for the marriage certificates. Family: Luther P Stone / Amanda Ivy (F2836)

[MsDoAaH-2010a] is an index of marriages in Hinds County and, unfortunately, does not contain volume or page numbers for the marriage certificates. Family: John Helron / Laura A Stone (F2837)

[Mueller-1999] and [Heian-2010] have “Heinrich Budahn’s” birth listed as “Donnerberg, Usedom-Wollin, Prussia” and “Stettin, Pomerania, Prussia” respectively. However, neither of these locations is supported by any vital records uncovered thus far. Moreover, the only contemporary reference for a “Donnerberg” is probably an historic village near Aachen in Nordhein-Wesfalen, a considerable distance from Gristow where Christian Heinrich Budahn and Anna Maria Schulz were married. On the other hand, [Greifswald-1820a] states that Christian Heinrich Budahn was “...of Dannenberg”, a village on the island of Wollin at the edge of the Baltic Sea. The modern location is the Polish village of Domysłów, Wolin. [Greifswald-1820a] is not conclusive evidence that Christian Heinrich Budahn was born in Dannenberg, but it is much more likely than locations supplied by other sources. Budahn, Christian Heinrich (I728)

[NEHGS-1849a] does not actually state that Warren Eastman and Rachel Young Cole were married in Quincy, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, but the location is assumed due to the following: Rachel and Warren were residents of Chelsea at the time; the marriage was registered in Quincy, and the officiating pastor was also from Quincy. Family: Warren Eastman / Rachel Young Cole (F25)

[NEHGS-1871b] does not actually state that Sabra Doane (Pierce) Cole and Seth N Covell were married in Wellfleet, Barnstable County. But since they were both residents of Wellfleet at the time and their marriage was registered in Wellfleet, it seems likely that they married there. Family: Seth N Covell / Sabra Doane Pierce (F3112)

[NEHGS-1874a] lists Edith E Tutein’s age at death as “6 months, 27 days” putting her birth on, or about, 6 February 1874. Tutein, Edith E (I4234)

[NEHGS-1876a] does not actually state that Ida A Eastman and Walter C Harvey were married in Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, but given that they were both living in Chelsea at the time, their marriage was registered in Chelsea and in no other municipality, and that the minister who married them was from Chelsea, it is safe to assume that they did indeed marry in Chelsea. Family: Walter C Harvey / Eliza Ann Eastman (F146)

[NEHGS-1881a] lists Nancy (Stacy) Tutein’s age at death as 76 years, 9 months, and 6 days. This places her birth on 27 Oct 1804. This date is confirmed by [Graves-1901a]. Stacy, Nancy (I257)

[NEHGS-1881c] does not actually list Walter C Harvey’s birthdate. Rather it lists his age at death as “27 years, 11 months, 26 days”. This places his birth on, or about, 7 Dec 1853”. Harvey, Walter C (I207)

[NEHGS-1881e] does not actually state that William Franklin Tutein and Harriet Cole Eastman were at Chelsea, Suffolk County, but since both were living in Chelsea at the time and the Justice of the Peace who officiated was also from Chelsea, it is a reasonable assumption. Family: William Franklin Tutein / Harriet Cole Eastman (F23)

[NEHGS-1884b] does not actually list Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts as the location of John W Pettigrew’s marriage to Eliza “Ida” (Eastman) Harvey. The field is actually blank. But given that both individuals were living in Taunton at the time and that they were married by a pastor from Taunton, it is reasonable to assume that the marriage took place in Taunton. Family: John W Pettigrew / Eliza Ann Eastman (F148)

[NEHGS-1892a] states that Frederick J Tutein was 54 years, 5 months, and 14 days old when he died. This puts his birth on 17 May 1938. Tutein, Frederick J (I186)

[NEHGS-1893a] does not actually state that Robert Fairbanks and Hannah Elizabeth Lowe were married in Boston. But since they were both living in Boston at the time, the marriage was registered in Boston, and the officiating pastor was from Boston, they’re having been married in Boston seems very likely. Family: Robert Fairbanks / Hannah Elizabeth Lowe (F10)

[NEHGS-1894c] does not state that Mary Gertrude Butler was born on 20 August 1866. Rather, it states that she was 27 years, 6 months, and 9 days old at the time of her death. Butler, Mary Gertrude (I4054)

[NEHGS-1901c] indicates that John Albert Nelson’s marriage to Amy Maud Davis ended in divorce, but the exact date, place, and circumstances are not known. Family: John Albert Nelson / Amy Maud Davis (F3100)

[NEHGS-1904b] states that Emily Elizabeth Fairbanks was buried at “East Boston Cemetery”, but this information is not specific enough to identify which contemporary cemetery is being referred to. Fairbanks, Emily Elizabeth (I30)

[NEHGS-1906a] has Mary E (Butler-Tutein) Morse’s age at death as, “59 years, 2 months, 27 days”. This places her birth on 25 March 1847. Tutein, Mary E (I433)

[NEHGS-1906b] does not explicitly state the location of Carrie E (Tutein) Marlow’s death. However, “Merrimack House” is listed for the location, and there is a Merrimack House in Lowell that has served in the past as a retirement home and institution. Tutein, Carrie E (I2400)

[NEHGS-1910c] list Solomon Atkins Cole’s place of burial as “Woodlawn Cemetery, Chelsea”. Woodlawn Cemetery, though, is actually located in Everett, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Cole, Solomon Atkins (I1128)

[NEHGS-1968a] confirms information from [Shurtleff-1938] about the year and location of Constantine Diedrich Tutein’s birth. Tutein, Constantine Diedrich (I235)
