Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Residence: Ruth married Robert Stanley Fairbanks on 20 Jul 1933 in Saint Louis, Missouri, United States. Robert (son of Robert Fairbanks and Hannah Elizabeth Lowe) was born on 28 Jan 1906 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States; died on 23 Feb 1982 in Saint Louis, Missouri, United States; was buried on 26 Feb 1982 in Memorial Park Cemetery, Saint Louis, Missouri, United States. 2. | William Franklin Tutein was born on 29 Jan 1862 in Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States (son of Constantine Dedriech Tutein and Louisa Sawyer); died on 1 Apr 1937 in Stoneham, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States; was buried on 3 Apr 1937 in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: At the time the 1880 US Federal Census was recorded, William Franklin Tutein was still single. William married Harriet Cole Eastman on 30 Mar 1881 in Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. Harriet (daughter of Warren Eastman and Rachel Young Cole) was born on 26 Jun 1861 in Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States; died on 31 Aug 1960 in Newport Center, Orleans County, Vermont, United States; was buried on 3 Sep 1960 in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
3. | Harriet Cole Eastman was born on 26 Jun 1861 in Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States (daughter of Warren Eastman and Rachel Young Cole); died on 31 Aug 1960 in Newport Center, Orleans County, Vermont, United States; was buried on 3 Sep 1960 in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Harriet Cole Eastman’s birthdate and birth location are corroborated by many sources including [Tutein-1997c], [VtSAaRA-1960a], [OakGrove-1960], and [NEHGS-1861a]. Notes: [NEHGS-1881e] does not actually state that William Franklin Tutein and Harriet Cole Eastman were at Chelsea, Suffolk County, but since both were living in Chelsea at the time and the Justice of the Peace who officiated was also from Chelsea, it is a reasonable assumption.

4. | Constantine Dedriech Tutein was born on 17 Nov 1834 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States (son of Friedrich Johannes Tutein and Nancy Stacy); died on 15 Jan 1914 in Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States; was buried on 18 Jan 1914 in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: [Fairbanks-1949] incorrectly lists this person as “Frederick Tutein”. Constantine married Louisa Sawyer on 15 Nov 1856 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. Louisa (daughter of Samuel Sawyer and Lydia Anders) was born on 18 Oct 1839 in Boothbay, Lincoln County, Maine, United States; died on 2 Dec 1921 in Revere, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States; was buried after 2 Dec 1921 in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
5. | Louisa Sawyer was born on 18 Oct 1839 in Boothbay, Lincoln County, Maine, United States (daughter of Samuel Sawyer and Lydia Anders); died on 2 Dec 1921 in Revere, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States; was buried after 2 Dec 1921 in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Many Tutein family sources list the name of this individual as “M Louise Sawyer,” and [Fairbanks-1949] has Louisa’s first name as “Maud”. But no vital records discovered to date support that name. [MaA-1856a] has name listed as “Louisa Sawyer”. [Boston-1877a] and [MA-1855a] both have “Louisa D (Sawyer)”.

6. | Warren Eastman was born on 19 May 1821 in Parsonsfield, York County, Maine, United States (son of John Eastman and Betsey Day); died on 9 Jan 1908 in Exeter, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, United States; was buried on 11 Jan 1908 in Exeter Cemetery, Exeter, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: [Exeter-1908a] and [Exeter-1908] both state that Warren Eastman was the son of John Eastman and Betsey Day of Parsonsfield, York County, Maine, but to date no records have been found to substantiate this. Moreover, LDS IGI has a complete listing of children of John Eastman, and no Warren is listed. It may be the case that Jeremiah Eastman (an elder son of John) and Warren Eastman, are the same man. Warren married Rachel Young Cole on 10 Jun 1849 in Quincy, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, United States. Rachel (daughter of Nehemiah Cole and Sabra Doane Pierce) was born on 12 Jan 1832 in Wellfleet, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States; died on 23 Jan 1916 in Exeter, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, United States; was buried on 24 Jan 1916 in Exeter Cemetery, Exeter, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, United States. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
7. | Rachel Young Cole was born on 12 Jan 1832 in Wellfleet, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States (daughter of Nehemiah Cole and Sabra Doane Pierce); died on 23 Jan 1916 in Exeter, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, United States; was buried on 24 Jan 1916 in Exeter Cemetery, Exeter, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Two of Rachel Young Cole’s siblings, Harriet and Solomon were living in the Eastman home in Chelsea at the time of the enumeration of the 1860 US Federal census. Notes: “10 Mar 1849” and “Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts”, derived from [LDS-IGI-1982c], are probably references to the date and location of Warren and Rachel’s registration of their intention to marry... not their actual marriage.

8. | Friedrich Johannes Tutein was born on 4 Dec 1798 in Copenhagen, Denmark (son of Johann Friederick Tutein and Maria Susannah van Beverhoudt); died in 1858 in _______, _______, Massachusetts, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: 1873, widely reported in LDS sources as the year of Friedrich Tutein’s death, appears to be incorrect. 1858, on the other hand, reported in [Gross-1901a], is consistent with the fact that Friedrich Tutein’s wife Nancy, son Frederick J, and daughter Mary E were all living with his eldest son Constantine in 1860. Friedrich married Nancy Stacy on 14 Jul 1833 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. Nancy (daughter of Philemon Stacy and Polly Bray Edgily) was born on 27 Oct 1804 in Gloucester, Essex County, Massachusetts, United States; died on 2 Aug 1881 in Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
9. | Nancy Stacy was born on 27 Oct 1804 in Gloucester, Essex County, Massachusetts, United States (daughter of Philemon Stacy and Polly Bray Edgily); died on 2 Aug 1881 in Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: It appears that Nancy Stacy married a John Campbell before her marriage Friedrich Johannes Tutein, as a son from that marriage, William Campbell, is living in the Tutein household in 1850 and 1855. This also explains why, when she married Friedrich Johannes Tutein she stated her name as “Nancy Campbell”, while most of her children referred to her in vital records as “Nancy Stacy”. It is not clear how the names “Nancy Gross Stacy”, [Tutein-1997a] or “Nancy Gross” [Nolthenius-1998] were derived, since the only reference to “Gross” is its use as her youngest son’s (by Friedrich) middle name.

10. | Samuel Sawyer was born about 1803 in _______, _______, Maine, United States; died after Jul 1870 in (unknown). Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Samuel Sawyer was living with his daughter and son-in-law, Elvira W (Sawyer) and Joseph Andrew Tutein, at the time of the enumeration of the 1870 US census. Samuel married Lydia Anders on 17 Oct 1825 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. Lydia was born about 1803 in _______, _______, Maine, United States; died on 13 Apr 1851 in (unknown). [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
11. | Lydia Anders was born about 1803 in _______, _______, Maine, United States; died on 13 Apr 1851 in (unknown). Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: In [Holbrook-1825a] Lydia Anders is listed as, “...of Boston,” although it is not clear if this means that he was a resident of Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts at the time of her marriage to Samuel Sawyer or that she was born and raised in Boston. It may, in fact, imply both since she and Samuel were married in Boston Notes: Unlike the entry for Samuel Sawyer and Lydia Anders in [Holbrook-1825a], [Holbrook-1825b] does list a pastor. Consequently, it is assumed that this was Samuel and Lydia’s publication of their intention to marry.

12. | John Eastman was born about 1790 in _______, _______, Maine, United States (son of Daniel Eastman and Annie Alley); died in Feb 1870 in Cornish, York County, Maine, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: According to [US-1870-2i] John Eastman was living in the household of his son Jeremiah at the time of his death four months prior to the enumeration of the US Federal Census for 1870. John married Betsey Day in 1810 in Cornish, York County, Maine, United States. Betsey was born about 1794 in _______, _______, Maine, United States; died before Feb 1870 in (unknown). [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
13. | Betsey Day was born about 1794 in _______, _______, Maine, United States; died before Feb 1870 in (unknown). Other Events and Attributes:
|
14. | Nehemiah Cole was born on 31 May 1810 in Wellfleet, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States (son of Daniel Cole and Polly Atwood Snow); died on 11 Jun 1856 in Wellfleet, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States; was buried after 11 Jun 1856 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Wellfleet, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: [Pleasant-Hill-1856a] lists Nehemiah Cole’s death date as 5 June 1856. Nehemiah married Sabra Doane Pierce on 4 May 1830 in Wellfleet, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States. Sabra (daughter of Solomon Peirce and Keziah Doane) was born on 1 Jul 1810 in Wellfleet, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States; died on 17 Jul 1874 in Wellfleet, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States; was buried after 17 Jul 1874 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Wellfleet, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
15. | Sabra Doane Pierce was born on 1 Jul 1810 in Wellfleet, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States (daughter of Solomon Peirce and Keziah Doane); died on 17 Jul 1874 in Wellfleet, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States; was buried after 17 Jul 1874 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Wellfleet, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Sabra Doane (Pierce) Cole is enumerated in the household of her son Daniel in the 1870 US Federal Census.
