2. | Johan Axel Jansson was born on 9 Aug 1859 in Slogberget, Hellsjö Kommun, Kopparbergs län, Sweden (son of Jan Eric Jansson and Johanna Carlsdotter); died on 25 Dec 1926 in Darwin Township, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States; was buried after 25 Dec 1926 in Swan Lake Cemetery, near Dassel, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: “Slogberget, Hellsjö Kommun, Kopparbergs län” is the historic name for the community in which Johan Axel Jansson lived. The modern location is “Slogberg” or “Ov Slogberg”, near the village of “Hällsjön”, in “Dalarnas län” (the modern name of the province). It sould also be noted that the birth record *DOES NOT* state that Johan Axel was born in Slogberget. Rather, it states that a son, “Johan Axel,” was born to a Jan Eric Jansson and Johanna Carlsdotter, “...of Slogberget”. The use of Slogberget is a deduction based on the available evidence. Johan married Johanna Wilhelmina Jansdotter on 23 Nov 1880 in _______, _______, Sweden. Johanna (daughter of John Erick Johnson) was born on 2 Nov 1856 in Ramsberg, Örebro län, Sweden; died on 12 Apr 1941 in Darwin Township, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States; was buried on 16 Apr 1941 in Swan Lake Cemetery, near Dassel, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States. 3. | Johanna Wilhelmina Jansdotter was born on 2 Nov 1856 in Ramsberg, Örebro län, Sweden (daughter of John Erick Johnson); died on 12 Apr 1941 in Darwin Township, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States; was buried on 16 Apr 1941 in Swan Lake Cemetery, near Dassel, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: 13 May 1887 is the date that Johanna Wilhelmina Jansdotter left Norrbärke Parish with her husband on her way to North America, not the day that she emigrated from Sweden.

4. | Jan Eric Jansson was born on 20 Dec 1832 in Slogberget, Hellsjö Kommun, Kopparbergs län, Sweden (son of Jan Eric Persson and Christina Persdotter); died on 13 Sep 1921 in Dassel Township, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States; was buried after 13 Sep 1921 in Swan Lake Cemetery, near Dassel, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: “Slogberget, Hellsjö Kommun, Kopparbergs län” is the historic name for the community in which Jan Eric Jansson lived. The modern location is “Slogberg” or “Ov Slogberg”, near the village of “Hällsjön”, in “Dalarnas län” (the modern name of the province). It should also be noted that the birth record *DOES NOT* state that Jan Eric was born in Slogberget. Rather, it states that a son, “Jan Eric,” was born to a Jan Eric Persson and Stina Persdotter, “...of Slogberget”. The use of Slogberget is a deduction based on the available evidence. Jan married Johanna Carlsdotter on 14 Sep 1858 in _______, _______, Sweden. Johanna was born in ? in _______, _______, Sweden; died on 29 May 1880 in Slogberget, Hellsjö Kommun, Kopparbergs län, Sweden. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
5. | Johanna Carlsdotter was born in ? in _______, _______, Sweden; died on 29 May 1880 in Slogberget, Hellsjö Kommun, Kopparbergs län, Sweden. Notes: The information from [Lindell, 1982] listing Jan Eric Jansson’s 1st wife as “Margetha Carolina Jansson,” appears to be incorrect. Notes: The date of Jan Eric Jansson’s marriage to Johanna Carlsdotter is **VERY** hard to read in [Leksand-1992e]. LDS IGI has a date of 29 Oct 1858 for the marriage of Jan Erik Jannson to a “Johanna Carlsten” but given IGI’s penchant for notoriously bad transcriptions, a marriage record from Sweden should be sought.
