Casper married Anna Marie Jarvis on 21 Sep 1937 in Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: A cemetery receipt for Rienza Cemetery, bearing the names of Frederick and Katherine Bonnell (Lot 150, Section Y), is in the possession of Judith Ann (Bonnell) Lindell. Frederick married Katherine A Hoffman on 1 Apr 1895 in Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States. Katherine (daughter of Casper Hoffman and Catherine Schaefer) was born in Feb 1874 in Mayville, Dodge County, Wisconsin, United States; died in 1929 in Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States; was buried in 1929 in Rienza Cemetery, Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States. 4. | Oscar A Bonnell was born about 1841 in _______, _______, Pennsylvania, United States (son of John Bonnell and Persie B Mapes); died before Jun 1900 in (unknown); was buried before Jun 1900 in Rienza Cemetery, Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Since Oscar A Bonnell does not appear with his wife and children in [US-1900-1l1], it is assumed that he died before June of 1900. Oscar married Lucia E Killips on 22 Jun 1864 in Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States. Lucia (daughter of John B McKillips and Lucy Gant) was born in Dec 1842 in _______, _______, Vermont, United States; died after May 1926 in Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States; was buried after May 1926 in Rienza Cemetery, Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
5. | Lucia E Killips was born in Dec 1842 in _______, _______, Vermont, United States (daughter of John B McKillips and Lucy Gant); died after May 1926 in Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States; was buried after May 1926 in Rienza Cemetery, Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: There is considerable confusion regarding Lucia E Killips. Bonnell family sources refer to this woman as “Lucia Phillips”, but careful examination of [FondduLac-1864] reveals that, in fact, the family name is indeed “Killips”. Moreover, it appears that the first name, “Lucia”, may have been a nickname that she used only in adulthood. In [US-1860-1p] Lucia E Killips is listed as “Sarah E Killips”, and [US-1850-1n] as “Lucy”. Notes: A “George W Killips” witnessed the marriage of Oscar A Bonnell and Lucia E Killips. This is probably her older brother.

6. | Casper Hoffman was born in Jul 1848 in _______, _______, Kingdom of Bavaria (son of Johann Hoffman and Catharina Rosenbaum); died after Jan 1920 in (unknown). Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Additional research is required to determine conclusively that Casper Hoffman was the son of John and Catherine Hoffman. Although the small number of Hoffman’s in central Wisconsin at the time, indicates that this is actually the case. Casper married Catherine Schaefer on 9 Jan 1872 in Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States. Catherine (daughter of Joseph Schaefer and Maria Agnes Henschenmacher) was born in Aug 1850 in _______, _______, Wisconsin, United States; died after Jan 1920 in (unknown). [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
7. | Catherine Schaefer was born in Aug 1850 in _______, _______, Wisconsin, United States (daughter of Joseph Schaefer and Maria Agnes Henschenmacher); died after Jan 1920 in (unknown). Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: [US-1900-1k] notes that Catherine (Schaefer) Hoffman was the mother of 12 children of which 10 were still alive in 1900. Since only 5 are enumerated in 1880 and an additional 4 in 1900, there must be 3 children (1 living, 2 deceased in 1900) that are not accounted for in this database. Notes: Casper’s younger brother, Andreas, and Catherine’s younger sister, Elizabeth, witnessed their marriage in 1872.

8. | John Bonnell was born in 1816 in Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania, United States; died on 15 Jan 1893 in Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States; was buried after 15 Jan 1893 in Rienza Cemetery, Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: John Bonnell and his family moved from Pennsylvania to Wisconsin sometime between the birth of their daughter Alice in 1843 and the birth of their daughter Ann W in 1849. Persie was born about 1819 in _______, _______, New York, United States; died in 1903 in _______, _______, Wisconsin, United States; was buried in 1903 in Rienza Cemetery, Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States. 10. | John B McKillips was born about 1810 in _______, _______, Vermont, United States; died after 1880 in (unknown). Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: “St. Johns, Lower Canada,” is exactly how John B. McKillips residence was recorded at the time of his marriage to Lucy Gant, but there are a number of problems with this location. First, Saint John’s, the modern capital of Newfoundland and Labrador, was never part of the Province of Lower Canada. Second, Saint John’s is a tremendous distance from Vermont. It is possible that whomever wrote out the ‘Marriage Groom’ card for John. americanized the town of Saint Jean sur Richelieu which lies between the Vermont-Canada border and Montreal. A birth certificate should be sought. John married Lucy Gant on 4 Jul 1830 in Middlebury, Addison County, Vermont, United States. Lucy was born about 1810 in _______, _______, Vermont, United States; died before 1870 in _______, _______, Wisconsin, United States. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
11. | Lucy Gant was born about 1810 in _______, _______, Vermont, United States; died before 1870 in _______, _______, Wisconsin, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Louisa (“Lucy”) Killips does not appear in the 1870 US federal census records, and John B Killips lists himself as widowed in 1880. Therefore, it’s likely that Louisa died before 1870.

Notes: Many members of Joseph and his wife’s extended family (6 in all) travelled with them aboard the Micas in 1849. One of these was a Daniel Schaefer which some sources list as Joseph’s twin brother. Another was an older male Schaefer who may have been Joseph’s father. In addition were Anton Henschenmacher and his wife, Maria’s parents. It should also be noted that the family members surname was spelled “Schaffer” in the Micas’ manifest. Joseph + Maria Agnes Henschenmacher. Maria (daughter of Anton Henschenmacher and Maria Anna Urlings) was born on 20 Jan 1824 in Merken, Rhine Province, Kingdom of Prussia; died on 3 Mar 1914 in (unknown); was buried after 3 Mar 1914 in Our Risen Savior Catholic Church Cemetery, Woodhull, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: A 92 year old “A Henchenmaker” (almost certainly Anton Henschenmacher) is living in the Schaefer household in 1860.
