2. | Frederick Constantine Tutein was born on 24 Aug 1857 in Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States (son of Constantine Dedriech Tutein and Louisa Sawyer); died on 22 Oct 1925 in Revere, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States; was buried on 24 Oct 1925 in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: [US-1900-1u] does not list the number of the house in which Frederick Constantine Tutein and his family were living in 1900. However it does show that they were living on Beach Street in Revere. Frederick married Carrie M Hawkes on 5 Aug 1877 in Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. Carrie was born in 1859 in North Adams, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, United States; died on 20 Jul 1929 in Revere, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States; was buried on 23 Jul 1929 in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
3. | Carrie M Hawkes was born in 1859 in North Adams, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, United States; died on 20 Jul 1929 in Revere, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States; was buried on 23 Jul 1929 in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Carrie M (Hawkes) Tutein’s birth year as estimated from [OakGrove-1925] is corroborated by her marriage entry. Notes: That Frederick Tutein and Carrie Hawkes married in Chelsea, Suffolk County has not be conclusively established. The fact is merely a likely inference based on where they registered their marriage and the fact that both were residents of Chelsea at the time of their marriage.

4. | Constantine Dedriech Tutein was born on 17 Nov 1834 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States (son of Friedrich Johannes Tutein and Nancy Stacy); died on 15 Jan 1914 in Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States; was buried on 18 Jan 1914 in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: [Fairbanks-1949] incorrectly lists this person as “Frederick Tutein”. Constantine married Louisa Sawyer on 15 Nov 1856 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. Louisa (daughter of Samuel Sawyer and Lydia Anders) was born on 18 Oct 1839 in Boothbay, Lincoln County, Maine, United States; died on 2 Dec 1921 in Revere, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States; was buried after 2 Dec 1921 in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
5. | Louisa Sawyer was born on 18 Oct 1839 in Boothbay, Lincoln County, Maine, United States (daughter of Samuel Sawyer and Lydia Anders); died on 2 Dec 1921 in Revere, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States; was buried after 2 Dec 1921 in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Many Tutein family sources list the name of this individual as “M Louise Sawyer,” and [Fairbanks-1949] has Louisa’s first name as “Maud”. But no vital records discovered to date support that name. [MaA-1856a] has name listed as “Louisa Sawyer”. [Boston-1877a] and [MA-1855a] both have “Louisa D (Sawyer)”.

8. | Friedrich Johannes Tutein was born on 4 Dec 1798 in Copenhagen, Denmark (son of Johann Friederick Tutein and Maria Susannah van Beverhoudt); died in 1858 in _______, _______, Massachusetts, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: 1873, widely reported in LDS sources as the year of Friedrich Tutein’s death, appears to be incorrect. 1858, on the other hand, reported in [Gross-1901a], is consistent with the fact that Friedrich Tutein’s wife Nancy, son Frederick J, and daughter Mary E were all living with his eldest son Constantine in 1860. Friedrich married Nancy Stacy on 14 Jul 1833 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. Nancy (daughter of Philemon Stacy and Polly Bray Edgily) was born on 27 Oct 1804 in Gloucester, Essex County, Massachusetts, United States; died on 2 Aug 1881 in Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
9. | Nancy Stacy was born on 27 Oct 1804 in Gloucester, Essex County, Massachusetts, United States (daughter of Philemon Stacy and Polly Bray Edgily); died on 2 Aug 1881 in Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: It appears that Nancy Stacy married a John Campbell before her marriage Friedrich Johannes Tutein, as a son from that marriage, William Campbell, is living in the Tutein household in 1850 and 1855. This also explains why, when she married Friedrich Johannes Tutein she stated her name as “Nancy Campbell”, while most of her children referred to her in vital records as “Nancy Stacy”. It is not clear how the names “Nancy Gross Stacy”, [Tutein-1997a] or “Nancy Gross” [Nolthenius-1998] were derived, since the only reference to “Gross” is its use as her youngest son’s (by Friedrich) middle name.

10. | Samuel Sawyer was born about 1803 in _______, _______, Maine, United States; died after Jul 1870 in (unknown). Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Samuel Sawyer was living with his daughter and son-in-law, Elvira W (Sawyer) and Joseph Andrew Tutein, at the time of the enumeration of the 1870 US census. Samuel married Lydia Anders on 17 Oct 1825 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. Lydia was born about 1803 in _______, _______, Maine, United States; died on 13 Apr 1851 in (unknown). [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
11. | Lydia Anders was born about 1803 in _______, _______, Maine, United States; died on 13 Apr 1851 in (unknown). Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: In [Holbrook-1825a] Lydia Anders is listed as, “...of Boston,” although it is not clear if this means that he was a resident of Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts at the time of her marriage to Samuel Sawyer or that she was born and raised in Boston. It may, in fact, imply both since she and Samuel were married in Boston Notes: Unlike the entry for Samuel Sawyer and Lydia Anders in [Holbrook-1825a], [Holbrook-1825b] does list a pastor. Consequently, it is assumed that this was Samuel and Lydia’s publication of their intention to marry.
