3. | Nellie M Hopkins was born about 1896 in _______, _______, Kansas, United States; died in ? in (unknown). Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Although there are many women named “Nellie” with a daughter named “Rose” listed in the 1920 US Federal Census for Missouri and Kansas, numerous facts indicate that our Nellie was in fact married to Charles D. Corp and living in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. First the father and mother of the Nellie listed both in source [US-1920-2s] and in source [US-1930-1j] were born in Kentucky and North Carolina, respectively. In addition, the ages of Nellie’s daughters match and Nellie is listed as their mother in both of their original US Social Security applications. Consequently, the fact that Nellie M. Masten from [US-1930-1j] and Nelly M. Corp from [US-1920-2s] are, in fact, the same person, is well supported. Notes: The disposition of Nellie’s marriage to Charles D. Corp is not known. By 1930 Nellie is living with her daughters in Saint Louis, Missouri with Merlin Douglas Masten and listed as Merlin’s wife.
