4. | Hans Nilsson was born on 25 May 1848 in Onslunda, Kristianstads län, Sweden (son of Nils Olsson and Marna Svensdotter); died on 16 Feb 1930 in Litchfield, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States; was buried after 16 Feb 1930 in Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Hans Nilsson appears to have emigrated from Sweden using the name “Hans Anderberg”. He is listed under this name in [US-1880-1s] and [MN-1885b]. By 1895, Hans is using the surname “Lindell”, the name adopted by his father and siblings. He was referred to as “Hans N Lindell” for the remainder of his life. Hans married Kierstin Olsdotter before 1877. Kierstin (daughter of Ola Persson and Hanna Mårtensdotter) was born on 6 Sep 1850 in Tunbyholm, Smedstorp Parish, Kristianstads län, Sweden; died on 5 Dec 1935 in Litchfield, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States; was buried after 5 Dec 1935 in Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
5. | Kierstin Olsdotter was born on 6 Sep 1850 in Tunbyholm, Smedstorp Parish, Kristianstads län, Sweden (daughter of Ola Persson and Hanna Mårtensdotter); died on 5 Dec 1935 in Litchfield, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States; was buried after 5 Dec 1935 in Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States. 6. | Johan Axel Jansson was born on 9 Aug 1859 in Slogberget, Hellsjö Kommun, Kopparbergs län, Sweden (son of Jan Eric Jansson and Johanna Carlsdotter); died on 25 Dec 1926 in Darwin Township, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States; was buried after 25 Dec 1926 in Swan Lake Cemetery, near Dassel, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: “Slogberget, Hellsjö Kommun, Kopparbergs län” is the historic name for the community in which Johan Axel Jansson lived. The modern location is “Slogberg” or “Ov Slogberg”, near the village of “Hällsjön”, in “Dalarnas län” (the modern name of the province). It sould also be noted that the birth record *DOES NOT* state that Johan Axel was born in Slogberget. Rather, it states that a son, “Johan Axel,” was born to a Jan Eric Jansson and Johanna Carlsdotter, “...of Slogberget”. The use of Slogberget is a deduction based on the available evidence. Johan married Johanna Wilhelmina Jansdotter on 23 Nov 1880 in _______, _______, Sweden. Johanna (daughter of John Erick Johnson) was born on 2 Nov 1856 in Ramsberg, Örebro län, Sweden; died on 12 Apr 1941 in Darwin Township, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States; was buried on 16 Apr 1941 in Swan Lake Cemetery, near Dassel, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States. 7. | Johanna Wilhelmina Jansdotter was born on 2 Nov 1856 in Ramsberg, Örebro län, Sweden (daughter of John Erick Johnson); died on 12 Apr 1941 in Darwin Township, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States; was buried on 16 Apr 1941 in Swan Lake Cemetery, near Dassel, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: 13 May 1887 is the date that Johanna Wilhelmina Jansdotter left Norrbärke Parish with her husband on her way to North America, not the day that she emigrated from Sweden.
|
8. | Nils Olsson was born on 3 Mar 1812 in Asum, Kristianstads län, Sweden (son of Ola Nelson); died on 24 Jan 1904 in Grove City, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States; was buried on 30 Jan 1904 in First Lutheran Cemetery, Trinity Lutheran Church, Grove City, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Nils Olsson, like the rest of his family, took the name “Lindell” sometime around their emigration in 1872. Minnesota State Census records for Meeker County, as well as his gravesite, list his name as “N O Lindell”. The Birth and Death Record for Meeker County has him listed under “Nels Olson”. This database uses the name “Nils Olsson” because this is how he is listed in Swedish birth records for himself and all of his children. Nils married Marna Svensdotter on 17 Jul 1841 in Onslunda, Kristianstads län, Sweden. Marna (daughter of Sven Hansson and Hanna Nilsdotter) was born on 23 Sep 1812 in Onslunda, Kristianstads län, Sweden; died in 1902 in _______, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States; was buried in 1902 in First Lutheran Cemetery, Trinity Lutheran Church, Grove City, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
9. | Marna Svensdotter was born on 23 Sep 1812 in Onslunda, Kristianstads län, Sweden (daughter of Sven Hansson and Hanna Nilsdotter); died in 1902 in _______, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States; was buried in 1902 in First Lutheran Cemetery, Trinity Lutheran Church, Grove City, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Along with the rest of her husband’s family, Marna took the name “Lindell” upon emigrating to America in 1872 and she is listed as “Maina Lindell” at her grave site.

10. | Ola Persson was born on 3 Dec 1820 in Lövestad, Kristianstads län, Sweden; died on 8 Apr 1882 in Swede Grove, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States; was buried after 8 Apr 1882 in First Lutheran Cemetery, Trinity Lutheran Church, Grove City, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Ola Persson took the name “Ole Peter Ornberg” soon after or during his emigration from Sweden in 1870. He used the surname Ornberg for the remainder of his life. Ola + Hanna Mårtensdotter. Hanna was born on 1 Oct 1825 in Tunby, Smedstorp Parish, Kristianstads län, Sweden; died on 24 Oct 1865 in Tunby, Smedstorp Parish, Kristianstads län, Sweden. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
11. | Hanna Mårtensdotter was born on 1 Oct 1825 in Tunby, Smedstorp Parish, Kristianstads län, Sweden; died on 24 Oct 1865 in Tunby, Smedstorp Parish, Kristianstads län, Sweden. Notes: The ‘Household Examination’ from source [GID-1857a] appears to have been taken in 1857 with the entry for Hans Olson being added to the record in 1860.

12. | Jan Eric Jansson was born on 20 Dec 1832 in Slogberget, Hellsjö Kommun, Kopparbergs län, Sweden (son of Jan Eric Persson and Christina Persdotter); died on 13 Sep 1921 in Dassel Township, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States; was buried after 13 Sep 1921 in Swan Lake Cemetery, near Dassel, Meeker County, Minnesota, United States. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: “Slogberget, Hellsjö Kommun, Kopparbergs län” is the historic name for the community in which Jan Eric Jansson lived. The modern location is “Slogberg” or “Ov Slogberg”, near the village of “Hällsjön”, in “Dalarnas län” (the modern name of the province). It should also be noted that the birth record *DOES NOT* state that Jan Eric was born in Slogberget. Rather, it states that a son, “Jan Eric,” was born to a Jan Eric Persson and Stina Persdotter, “...of Slogberget”. The use of Slogberget is a deduction based on the available evidence. Jan married Johanna Carlsdotter on 14 Sep 1858 in _______, _______, Sweden. Johanna was born in ? in _______, _______, Sweden; died on 29 May 1880 in Slogberget, Hellsjö Kommun, Kopparbergs län, Sweden. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
13. | Johanna Carlsdotter was born in ? in _______, _______, Sweden; died on 29 May 1880 in Slogberget, Hellsjö Kommun, Kopparbergs län, Sweden. Notes: The information from [Lindell, 1982] listing Jan Eric Jansson’s 1st wife as “Margetha Carolina Jansson,” appears to be incorrect. Notes: The date of Jan Eric Jansson’s marriage to Johanna Carlsdotter is **VERY** hard to read in [Leksand-1992e]. LDS IGI has a date of 29 Oct 1858 for the marriage of Jan Erik Jannson to a “Johanna Carlsten” but given IGI’s penchant for notoriously bad transcriptions, a marriage record from Sweden should be sought.
