Notes: Although [Stiles-1971] claims that Amanda and Miranda Thomas were born in 1859, they do not appear in the Eighth Census of the United States for Selma, Dallas County, Alabama. [US-1870-1i] has the twins listed as 11 years old in 1870, but this is probably a mistake. Finally, [US-1920-1j] has Amanda listed as 57 years old in 1920, which correlates with the only discovered birthdate, 9 Nov 1862 (unverified information from the LDS IGI).
