    Notes:

“Slogberget, Hellsjö Kommun, Kopparbergs län” is the historic name for the community in which Jan Eric Jansson lived. The modern location is “Slogberg” or “Ov Slogberg”, near the village of “Hällsjön”, in “Dalarnas län” (the modern name of the province). It should also be noted that the birth record *DOES NOT* state that Jan Eric was born in Slogberget. Rather, it states that a son, “Jan Eric,” was born to a Jan Eric Persson and Stina Persdotter, “...of Slogberget”. The use of Slogberget is a deduction based on the available evidence.

The information from [Lindell, 1982] that Jan Eric Jansson was born in Ramsberg, Örebro län, Sweden is not correct. The birth date is though, is now verified through two independent sources.

Jan Eric Jansson’s gravesite lists his death at “1920”, and considering that the filing date of 14 Sep 1921is suspiciously close to the death date listed in Meeker County Death Record, Vol D, the 13 Sep 1921 may be incorrect.

13 May 1887 is the date that Jan Eric Jansson left Norrbärke Parish on his way to North America, not the day that he emigrated from Sweden.

  2. 13.  Johanna Carlsdotter was born in ? in _______, _______, Sweden; died on 29 May 1880 in Slogberget, Hellsjö Kommun, Kopparbergs län, Sweden.

    Notes:

The information from [Lindell, 1982] listing Jan Eric Jansson’s 1st wife as “Margetha Carolina Jansson,” appears to be incorrect.

    Notes:

The date of Jan Eric Jansson’s marriage to Johanna Carlsdotter is **VERY** hard to read in [Leksand-1992e]. LDS IGI has a date of 29 Oct 1858 for the marriage of Jan Erik Jannson to a “Johanna Carlsten” but given IGI’s penchant for notoriously bad transcriptions, a marriage record from Sweden should be sought.
