Source [Kilpatrick-Cemetery-1905a] lists a birthdate of 9 Feb 1864 for Younger Taylor Stiles, despite the fact that the inscription on his grave marker reads “10 Feb 1864”, a date supported by [Stratton-2002b].

There are multiple burial references for John Alford Stiles. One has him buried at Pleasant View Cemetery, Fayetteville, Lincoln County, Tennessee. However there is no first hand evidence of a grave site or marker. More likely, John Alford Stiles is buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Vanntown, Lincoln County, Tennessee, located on the site of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Pleasant Hill Cemetery is where his second wife Sarah Catherine McDaniel is buried, and John Alford Stiles was married to Sarah for almost 35 years.

[LDS-AF-2002a] has birth at Fayetteville, Lincoln County, Virginia.

[USGenWeb-1998c] has an obituary entry for a “John A Stiles” who died sometime before 1 Jan 1914.
